A dentist in Nha Trang charges roughly 60-80% less than a clinic in a Western country for fillings, cleanings and crowns, according to expat dental guides. A filling costs $12-38 and a Korean implant with crown $540-1,080, at about 26,000 dong to the dollar.

I have watched dental plans collide with visas many times: an implant takes months, and an e‑visa lasts up to 90 days.

Which Nha Trang dental clinics work well for foreigners?

Two clinics publish price lists and written warranties: Viet Han at 60 Quang Trung and Santé at STH 24.19 Thích Quảng Đức. Three more central clinics, Saigon Dental, Thanh Tâm and Dr. Tooth, are easier to judge by phone. Nha Trang’s choice of clinics is average next to Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang, where the strongest clinics cluster, but its prices are the lowest of those four cities.

Viet Han

Viet Han sits at 60 Quang Trung, phone +84 787 505 577. Reviews describe the front desk as fluent in English, and WhatClinic lists English, Russian and Vietnamese, so ask when you book which doctor will be on duty that day. Written contracts cover crowns and implants for 7 to 15 years, veneers for 5 years and fillings for 3 months. I like that the warranty is put in a contract, because a verbal promise is hard to claim on once you have flown home. The clinic has CBCT scanning (a 3D scan of the jaw), Invisalign and Dio, Neodent and Straumann implants.

Santé

Santé is at STH 24.19 Thích Quảng Đức, hotline +84 258 730 8386, and takes requests through Zalo and WhatsApp. The website switches between English, Russian and Vietnamese, though open sources do not confirm which doctors speak Russian, so check language before you go. A warranty card is valid at every branch in the chain, with crown cover from 1 to 20 years depending on the material and 1-2 months on a filling.

Saigon Dental

Saigon Dental, part of the Đại Nam chain, treats patients at 50 Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai and 43A Lê Thành Phương. It is a chain with several branches and evening hours, with a shorter day on Sunday, though listings disagree, so confirm hours before you go and ask in chat who will see you.

Thanh Tâm

Thanh Tâm has run at 11 Pasteur for more than 12 years, phone +84 933 922 025, and covers implants and cosmetic dentistry. Settle the written quote and the doctor’s language before the first visit.

Dr. Tooth

Dr. Tooth opened in 2016 at 90 Huỳnh Thúc Kháng, phone +84 258 351 5788, and offers fillings, implants and wisdom tooth removal. Since the 2025 administrative reform the district name in addresses is written differently across sites, so navigate by street and house number. It is the one to ask about wisdom tooth removal.

How much does dental work cost in Nha Trang?

A cleaning costs $8-20 and a zirconia crown $135-270. These ranges come from the Santé and Viet Han price lists and from WhatClinic listings compiled in October 2026. The Viet Han list is dated January 2025 and the Santé list 2026, so confirm the final figure in writing before treatment starts.

Premium ceramics such as Lava and Orodent reach $310-540 per crown. Hard cases cost well above the table: a wisdom tooth removal near a nerve can run to $185.

What should an implant quote include?

A proper implant quote names the brand, the abutment (the connector between the post and the crown), the crown material and the warranty on separate lines. Santé’s published price covers implant, abutment, healing cap and crown together, while Viet Han lists the Dio implant at about $500 and puts the crown on top at $230-350. The slip I watch for is setting Viet Han’s $500 beside Santé’s all-in price and calling Viet Han cheaper. A low and a high headline number can describe the same job, so compare quotes line by line.

Ask for the implant passport with a serial number. Very cheap clinics may fit implants from unknown makers with no warranty, and a refusal to show the passport is a reason to leave. After treatment, request a record of materials with the brand and batch number, and check the clinic’s licence from the Ministry of Health.

How do you book a dentist in Nha Trang without Vietnamese?

Booking works in English: clinics take requests by phone, on Zalo, on WhatsApp and through their websites. Zalo is a Vietnamese messenger used for quick chats with a front desk. Send a message in English with a photo of the problem tooth or an old X-ray.

  1. Message two clinics with the same request: which tooth, how long it has hurt, whether you have an X-ray.
  2. Ask who will treat you and whether that doctor speaks English or Russian on your day.
  3. Get a panoramic X-ray on site for $6-10, which is what the clinic uses to draft a treatment plan.
  4. Ask for a written quote in English with crown, implant and abutment on separate lines.
  5. Compare the warranty with the contract, and take copies of your X-rays before you pay.

How long does a crown, an implant or braces treatment take?

An implant needs two visits: the post goes in within 1-2 hours, bone then fuses with it over 3-6 months, and the permanent crown follows. Santé quotes integration by brand: Straumann 1-2 months, Megagen 2-4, Biotem and Neodent 4-6. When the visa is short, I weigh Straumann’s 1-2 months against the cheaper brands, because here the extra money buys time and not just a name. Fillings and cleanings finish in one visit, while implants and braces tie you to the city for months.

A full arch on four implants may need another visit 3-6 months later, and braces stretch the treatment further. If you stay in town between visits, see what a month costs in our Nha Trang cost of living guide.

What happens to your visa during a long treatment?

A Vietnam e‑visa is issued for up to 90 days, and implant work can easily outlast it, so the second visit often needs a new visa. A single-entry e‑visa ends the moment you leave, while a multiple-entry one lets you re-enter inside its window, as the 90-day multiple-entry e‑visa guide explains. Check the term and conditions on evisa.gov.vn. If the second visit falls after your stay runs out, the Nha Trang visa run page shows the land exit from the city: an evening sleeper to Laos or Cambodia, back the next day.

An overstay costs more than any filling: fines grow with every day, and trouble at the airport on exit is possible. With a week of slack on your visa you can organise a one-day exit and a new e‑visa yourself. Without slack, I take the exit off your hands: a visa run from Nha Trang with BestBus Vietnam leaves on a schedule and takes one day. Message me on WhatsApp with the date your visa expires and I will tell you which nearest departure you can make.

Do insurance and cards cover dental work in Vietnam?

Mostly not: Vietnam’s public insurance, BHYT, does not cover private clinics, and travel insurance pays only for acute pain and emergencies, so a planned crown, filling or implant falls outside it. Clinics take payment at the end of the visit in cash or by Visa or Mastercard. Mir cards are not accepted.

International plans with a dental rider usually set a separate annual limit of about $500-2,000 and almost always exclude whitening, cosmetic veneers and planned braces. The full comparison is in our guide to expat health insurance in Vietnam.

Which clinic and treatment plan to choose first?

For cleaning, fillings and crowns, Nha Trang is a sound choice: prices are low and clinics are plentiful. For an implant, compare quotes by brand and by whether the crown is included, agree on two visits, and check your visa term first.

A new e‑visa application takes an evening on the government portal, and you do not need me for that. But when an appointment is fixed and the visa ends sooner, a mistake in the exit date turns into an overstay. Send me your appointment dates on WhatsApp and I will plan an exit that gets you back in time for the dentist.

Frequently asked questions

Is dental work in Vietnam safe for foreigners?Dentists study for 6 years at medical universities, and leading clinics use CBCT scanners (3D jaw scans) and CAD/CAM crowns. Quality varies more outside Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang, so check the licence and the doctor's training, and ask for the implant passport before you commit.
Can I walk in without an appointment?Private dentists in Vietnam need no registration, so clinics see both booked and walk-in patients. Sunday hours are shorter: [Santé's own site](https://nhakhoasante.vn/) lists 8:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:00. Directory listings disagree on times, so call before you travel.
Is there a payment plan for dental work?Santé offers instalments on braces over 12 to 24 months. Ask other clinics about instalments before you sign the quote.
How long do aligners take?Invisalign Lite at Viet Han and Santé is planned for about 2 years. That suits people staying in Nha Trang long term or willing to return for check-ups.
What if I leave Vietnam after the implant?Take copies of your X-rays from before and after treatment and a written plan in English. Santé's warranty card works at all its branches, but the chain has none outside Vietnam, so a local dentist will have to check the implant abroad.
